Default Classics with oil coolers

Anyone have pics of theirs fitted ?

I've got my oil filter relocated to behind my drivers headlight to help keep cool but was thinking bout a cooler now , since I have the relocation plates already I only need the cooler and lines , what's best , 13 row , 19 row etc and best place to mount ?

Cheers

Depends on your power level but a 13 row should be fine for most applications under 450bhp. behind the grille would be a good position for the cooler. This is mine but not the run of the mill setup, oil cooler is mounted between the rad and intercooler

16row does me fine on a big power classic.

Often overlooked is the management of the air out.

People think about the air hitting it but if that air becomes dead at the back end of it, you might as well not fit it.

Many people are running around with them as a placebo.

So think about where the air goes as it comes out of the cooler, the air needs to pass though and then it will act as proper cooler.

I do not have any pics to hand but mine sits behind the where the fog cover is on the front bumper. Matty did some proper niffty fabrication work to get the air flowing through it correctly.

Not the best of pics but is the only one I can find
You can see the fabrication at the front to direct the air into the cooler that sits behind the bumper

ok cheers guys, think i will go for the 13 row one, not kicking in alot of power, 340 so only want it to reduce oil temps by 10-15 degrees when pushing hard, i notice mine gets to 100 and the pressure drops abouut 0.5 bar at that temp

Not sure where i would fit it, i have air con rad also so not much room at the front, could fit it in front of the Rad but would be worried it got pierced as it would be the 1st rad on show

hmmm

cheers

Does it matter if the oil cooler has its in and out unions at the bottom , I'm hoping to feed pipes to it from underneath rather than at the top ?

Cheers
