Default Newage jdm catch can

Has anyone fitted one ? I had one on my type R that I installed and that worked a treat...
I'm just wondering if the process is the same on Newage JDM 03...

I can see you take the head breathers from the metal pipe running on the intercooler that would go to one port

it's the crank breather I'm trying to figure out do I still disconnect from pcv valve and block off the hole on inlet manifold then take the other hose that connected to crank breather and run a fresh hose to catch can.

I want to fit a new turbo intake pipe so thought I would do this at the same time any help would be great

Thanks CSF

Same method as a classic mate, you can do away with the pcv as you said or can keep it as it is and run the breather from the t-piece into the catch can and block off the breather port on the inlet pipe.

Dubzy, thanks for the message I was starting to lose hope lol ...

Ok thanks but just to confirm procedure..

Head breathers go to the mettle pipe on tmic if I take the feed off that to one port on the can

Then close up the pcv on manifold and Block up pipe that was connected to it. Then the other pipe from crank breather that goes to turbo intake pipe just remove and place longer pipe to the catch can,

Then vta a long hose from catch can to under the car....

Are there any advantages to keeping the pcv and just running from the other crank breather ?

Sorry last time I done this was a few years back so don't wanna mess it up

Thanks

Yes mate if its a 2 port catch can then the 2 head breathers into a t and using one port on the can and then the other port for the crank breather.

I think as long as its a decent can that can breath adequately and your not running major boost you shouldnt have any problems either way regarding the pcv.

I haven't bought a can yet will probs pick up a obp baffled 2 port, also will pick up via rcm a samco turbo intake pipe with just the one take off for the recirc valve as still on standard tmic...power wise won't be more than 440 with I imagin max 1.5 bar of boost

I could get a three port and have one go from each head breather if that would make much difference and the the other from crank.

Iv just purchased the obp 3 port baffled can which has the correct size ports for newage cars. Ive also fitted an an-8 fitting near the bottom as i will be using a return to sump line.
Ive also cut the bracket off and welded it to the bottom so it can be bolted to the chassis leg the like the rcm track attack can.

I would recommend the obp can, for £80 you wont go wrong.

Are you doing a hose direct from each head to the catch can or are using a t... Just on the Newage there is that metal pipe work on the front of the tmic that goes from each head then goes to the intake pipe I'm not sure if I should take it from there or remove it and do a hose from each head direct to catch can and get a 3 port...

Its a 1 litre can designed especially for the newage impreza. Im running a new hose from each head to their own port on the can. For the extra small expense you may as well do it properly. Just do away with the metal breather pipes on the tmic. I think the bracket it comes with is designed to mount to the bulkhead for ease of access to empty it.
