Default V9 Spec C longblock swap - oil cooler help!

Hi!

I'm swapping the v9 spec c longblock onto my 32bit ecu and i came to a point in oil cooling where i don't know what i have to do.

The spec c longblock has no oil modine, the oil filter bolts straight on the block. It also has 2 port water pump.

I definitely want to install oil cooler as i will track the car pretty often. I was considering installing OEM oil cooler lines, clamps, bolts and everything needed. In this case, can i install it without Spec C oil modine?

I have on my actual ej25 the stock oil modine. Can i use it on the Spec C longblock + 3 port water pump and aftermarket oil cooler kit? HEL Performance sells a pretty decent oil cooler kit at a very decent price https://www.scoobynet.com/car-parts-...ooler-kit.html

I would still want the OEM lines as i heard they last way longer than the AN hoses but if i have to buy the Spec C oil modine the costs will be very high.

Please help me sort this problem out, thanks!

Oil modine is a oil cooler the spec c does not have one as it uses a small rad a modine can be used or buy a cooler kit with a sandwich plate.

Spec C oil cooler kit has a sandwich plate with thermostat as far as i know, but i don't know if it's possible to install it without Spec C modine.

So i can buy aftermarket oil cooler kit with just thermostated sandwich plate and it should work with no issues without the factory modine and the 2 port water pump?

Thanks for info, i really don't know too much in this area.

Remove the SpecC oil cooler take off plate (with 10mm push on hose fittings) and replace with a mocal thermostatic takeoff plate, -10AN braided lines and mocal/setrab aftermarket cooler - job done!
