Crank sensor testing
Hi guys
I've got a 2000 impreza turbo 2000.
Replaced oil pump for an uprated one and old sensor was stuck in it.. I said to my mate leave it ill check online before it breaks.. and you can guess what happened next.. "sorry mate I broke it".
Anyway I got a new sensor.. Most on ebay are advertised as crank/cam sensor.. and as they do the same job of just relaying a high point to the ecu and plugs are the same.. I thought they are fine.. well the new one arrived and had a sheath around it which stopped it fitting.. I took the sheaf off and now it fits but I'm worried because the metal part for the sensor spins.. I've multimetered it and got 2100 ohms so really if I could have some advice whether or not that reading is in spec (can't find anything online) or if I will be ok using that sensor.. I'm hoping I don't need another!
Cheers for help guys!
