cat or de-cat
Hello,
I've a hawkeye wrx currently running a vf35 turbo with a Prodrive sports cat, producing about 320bhp. I was told that the exhaust diameter is restricting any higher gains in bhp, as I was hoping to hit 350bhp, and also informed to get a 3" decat downpipe. If I went for a 3" diameter exhaust would I still be able to hit big bhp figures with a cat in place, especially if I opted for a larger turbo for future mods? I’ve been told from another source that there’s very little difference now between a good sports cat and a decat downpipe.
What power are others running with a cat in place?
Engine internals are forged and I appreciate I may need a 6 speed sti box.
Thanks
