Default Turbo questions

Got a 1993 impreza

I only get just under 0.5 bar boost is this normal?

Used to have a td05 turbo but the bearings went so i put a td04 in, should i go back to td05?

Brand new BOV but still turbo flutters so doesnt seem to vent air? works when i open the throttle as can see it moving but on boost doesnt "blow off"

Just reported him. I'm sure our admin will get to it eventually.

Your joking aren't you, reported him a couple of days ago already, nothing.
Hence I didn't renew mine either this time

Didn't renew mine for the same reason. Terrible on here now sadly.

I've just reported all his posts so you never know.

Sad really as I really like this place and the people here. I'd gladly pay subscriptions again if this place was run better.

Different turbo would need remapping tbh.
Does your car have the 2 or 3 port bcs? Are you sure all the pipes are plumbed in correctly and the restrictor pill is still in place?
You fitted a new bov,is this the standard recirc valve or have you gone vta?
Any other modifications ?

3 port and no the air intake hose is not attatched as i cant find where it goes? Standard BOV on a FMIC.

You can vent to air with the 3rd port so doesn't need to go back to intake,it should have a restrictor pill in the pipe tho,is it still in there?

This pic may help?

But as you're running a different turbo and fmic without remapping then this can cause boost errors causing lower boost pressure.
Have you read the ECU for fault codes and tried an ECU reset(using the correct procedure)?

Yeah the restrictor is still in it.

I am happy to go back to the TD05 tbh so that would be okay with ecu just the FMIC i need mapping in. Only thing is i need a stand alone ecu for a 93 impreza as my ecu is not re-mappable. I have idle control valve as my error code which is correct as it always rev bounces when i put the clutch in so will clean that out soon.

You don't need an aftermarket ECU,you can fit an ESL into yours and either get it pro mapped or DIY map

http://www.enduringsolutions.com/

All the info you need here including user manual.
Andy even does a introduction to mapping course now which has had some great reviews from people who have attended.
I just read the manual a few times and took things slowly, plus some great help from members on here and Type-RA.com.
I do hope to do the course in the future but just haven't had time, plus had to rebuild my engine due to a very poor/explosive "pro" map!!!
