Default Exhaust - Exhausted?

I recently had a 6 speed conversion on my 04 WRX PPP, and it looks like the cone gasket is now blowing between the centre decat pipe, and the centre section of the exhaust, so I have ordered a set of gaskets and bolts to sort it out.

However I think the centre section of the exhaust where it meets my Prodive back box is a bit rotten (see pic), although I dont think it is blowing yet, if I am sorting the rest of it I was thinking maybe I should replace the centre section, or is there still plenty of life in it? I would rather sort it before it goes rather than having it go at the least convenient time and have my car of the road waiting for parts.

I was looking at the Afterburner 2.5" Bore Resonated Centre Section with Intregrated Performance Silencer 2001-2007 on the Scoobyworld website.

Would this be any louder than the standard part, and will it affect performance?

Any help would be apreciated :-)

Yeah taht looks pretty rough, i'd get that sorted asap. Plus you don't want exhaust gasses leaking into your car.

Yeah that's what I thought.

Is the one at Soobyworld any good, I don't particularly want it to be any louder?

Why don't you just go for a new system, or post a wanted ad up on here, you will be surprised what people have lying around. I have a Powerflow system has a deep burble but not too loud.

Got lots of things need fixing at the moment (engine rebuild, aircon.....) so trying to keep costs down, the Prodrive bits either side of the centre section are fine too, and I dont want to change things much.

Cheers

My 05 STI PPP had a centre section in a similar state, I replaced it with a miltek 2.5" straight through stainless section and it is a little louder but not much. I think it is about perfect and still a comfortable volume inside.

as above, just get a scorpion/milltek/h&s straight through centre section, it wont be all that louder, nor will it drone etc with the prodrive backbox.
