Looking to change the ecu on my v3 impreza and possibly fit my boost controller to bring the boost up to around 1-1.2bar. The engine is stock, i'll be fitting a better fuel pump and it's already got a decat downpipe fitted.

Not looking for a bigger turbo or massive bhp, just utilizing what's already on the car which i believe is a vf23 BB jobby and having some reliability.

Did mines or someone alike produce an ecu which can support slight boost increase as well as derestricting the car beyond 112mph?

 

grab a JDM version 3 STI Type R ECU since I am pretty sure the Type R wrx's used the same crank/injectors/cams as the STI JDM derivatives, just detuned for lower octane fuel.

Sorry my current car/ecu is a v3 type r. Is this safe to just turn the boost up, usually requires a remap due to det. ESL is on my list just seeing if theres something else about which ups the fuelling and removes the speed limiter. Prodrive etc

 

Upping the boost and not adjusting other parts of the map then yes you are gambling.


Other options to do this,yes.

Any more effective at ESL price,no.
