Default Gauges - Fitting

Hi All,

I've searched and seen many "how to's" and "guides" to fitting gauges. I wonder though how easy it is in the real world?

Can anyone do it or is it best to leave to a professional? I've got a set of 3 prosport gauges - oil temp/pressure and boost psi.

I want the oil temp for just everyday running the car - making sure she is properly warm before any real boost.

Oil Pressure as its a turbo and that will be a killer

And boost well just cus.

But the engine bay on scoobies are for the smallest of hands not manbear hands like mine.

I'm fairly mechanically minded but really - its never as easy as it looks.

If i do get them installed how much would i generally be looking at??

Thanks in advance.

Kozy

Oil pressure easy as it is under the alternator I got from Scoobyclinic what they refer to as a Christmas Tree which allowed me to fit the oil pressure gauge sender and the OE oil pressure switch easily. Looks better than the remote fitting kit I had previously. The oil temp sensor is a bit more of a pain as the recommended location is towards the back of the engine above cylinder 3.

Took me most of a day to do my defis, same three gauges, but that included going out to buy a decent 8mm long allen key wrench, and lots of thinking and coffee.

DO take care with the gauge wiring, a decent feed and earth are vital.

Just done my prosport boost gauge and taken the feed from the Dash clock. Pretty easy as its all marked out for you near the plug...
