Default JDM newage defi speedo cluster......help

Hey,
I've just got myself a set of jdm defi style clocks, is there any way of working out what year of car they were in so I can try and sort out the issue's after fitting.
The red line starts at 8k if that helps.
They are going into a 2004 blob wrx, I have a constant buzzing having turned on the ignition, abs light stays on, rear different temp on.
There seems to be plenty of stuff on the forums about sorting the problems, but that's with knowing what year the clocks were from.................
There was me thinking plug in and go, what a tool

I thought they only came on v9 onwards cars and also presumed all the jdm ones would have an 8k redline but i could be wrong.
