I've got a bugeye wrx, current spec is full decat exhaust, decat up pipe, induction kit, front mount intercooler, walbro 255 fuel pump and remapped,
It's going in next week to have 550 injectors and a vf35 turbo fitted and a twin remap, I've heard that the gearboxes are a weak link so is it worth me having a sti 6 speed gear box fitted at the same time, or will my standard gearbox take the extra power

In theory you should be OK at that level on the newage 5 speed depending on mileage and driving style. 6 speed is a big expense and it could be more cost effective to buy an sti. Don't forget clutch, handling and most importantly, brakes need upgrading too.

So my gearbox should take those upgrades, I've upgraded the brakes with decent pads, braided hoses and decent fluid, the suspension was going to be next, didn't want to have turbo and injectors fitted then Strip a gear or two

Should make well over 300bhp. Your 'box shouldn't be at imminent risk from a VF35 but obviously if you launch it a lot and bang through the gears all the time with not mechanical sympathy it's going to take it's toll. A replacement 5-speed box is a few hundred quid, a 6 speed conversion is many multiples of that. If you plan on running high 300s+ then I'd factor in a 6-speed as a necessity but then I'd also suggest that you just buy an STi to begin with.
