Uk turbo fuel pump not priming

Uk turbo fuel pump not priming
so basically I've recently bought a uk turbo 2000 which was sold as spares or repair. When I got it home I've messed about with it trying to get power to the fuel pump however I've had no success. I ran a constant live from the battery straight to the fuel pump connection and hay presto it starts. So the problem is obviously something simple like a fuse or relay fault but I just can't find it, can any of you think of what to check and where they are.
thanks in advance people

Fuel pump relay is up under the dashboard on the drivers side, replaced mine last year. Looks like this:

There's two of them, one is for the heater or heated rear window and the other is the fuel pump, can't remember which. You can bridge the contacts on the relay connector to see if it's the problem.

Well I've stripped all the lower dash away and swapped the two relays for another two I had laying from an old wiring loom and didn't make a difference. There was a blue plug and pink plug, with the ignition on I've unplugged them individually and you can hear the blue plugged one clicking on and off the pink one doesn't do anything. I'm wondering if there is a fuse or relay further back that is at fault ?? The multi plug under the seat seams ok and I've belled the cables out from the fuel pump to the plug and plug to the next connector at driver foot well and there's no melted or broken cables either. It's a head scratcher for me!

In that case it could be the ECU wiring (has someone fitted the wrong ECU after taking out a PPP version) or the Sigma alarm module. The sigma switches out the fuel pump and the ignition with a pair of relays, these have been known to fail over time as well.

Just re-thinking that, if the relay is switching then it sounds like it's the 12v supply that is being switched through the relay that has failed, I'm not sure if the Sigma cuts the feed to the relay coil or the feed to the pump. Need to check to see if there Is 12 Volts on the input and output of the relay.

If it is the sigma unit playing up they are easy to bypass you just need to cut and join 2 wires obviously I won't post how to do it but if you need to know I can PM it to you.

Ok thanks guys, will see if there's some way of checking what the alarm immobiliser out or even better just bypassing it all together. Just strange it's starting with a constant live to the pump, maybe end up just running a live to the pump with a switch on the dash if I can't solve it.

Isn't there a smaller 15 or 20amp fuse to check, on my Newage it's in the bank down right of the steering wheel, it's a while since I messed about down there so not certain.

yeah as Smithys STI is eluding to, it'll be a relay in the immobiliser itself that is burnt out (which cannot be replaced) You'll soon see why its burnt out when you see how thin the wiring is that Subaru UK spliced into the main fuel pump wiring.
bypassing the fuel pump aspect of the immobiliser will still leave the starter motor aspect so it will still function as an immobiliser
further down the line you'll start getting an indicator light sticking on when you arm/disarm the car. that'll be the 2 of 3 immobiliser relay burning out. but just continually arming/disarming will eventually clear that for you until it fully burns out - then just remove that aspect also!

Just managed to get a quick shot at it and bypassed the alarm as Smithys STI directed. Turned the key and the fuel pump primed straight away. Thank god that's sorted I tell you! Thanks for the help guys, just waiting on my starter motor and coil pack and there will be another subaru on the road. Having two subaru's on the road isn't greedy is it ??
