Default Sigma fob intermittent working

Hi all I'm having problems with the sigma fob on my99 uk turbo.
It's been working fine until a few weeks ago when I would have to stand pressing it for a few minutes until it worked. It's getting worse now to the point I could be there 5 minutes.
I changed the batteries but no change.
I did a quick search and read about mast interference but it can't be that as it's always worked at home.
Is it possible that the fob is just old and had it.
Any advice?

Had this last year its a right pain i just bought a new circuit board for the key, reprogrammed it and it's been good as gold ever since
You just need to find out if it's sigma m or sigma s

As I said above it will be an M series, you can't get the circuit board for yours you will have to get a new fob.
if that doesnt fix your problem it will be the sigma control module and you can't get M series ones any longer so you either buy second hand ,convert to S series or bypass the alarm.

Give your local subaru a call mate explain the problem tell them you need a key solution the part is £40 and if you want them to fit it in the key and programe it then it's about £100 extra or buy a second hand key and use the board out of that

His car is a my99 so it is too early to have a key solution in the key it will have the separate blue sigma fob.
if he had a later car with later keys you would be correct in what you are saying.
