Default Advice needed on next mods for 04 WRX

Hi all,

I have an 04 WRX I had it mapped by Andy Carr when it was running:

Decat uppipe
Panel filter
Resonated centre stainless but brand unknown
Wr back box
Standard downpipe

Car made 256bhp which is okay and goes well. Got more cash to maybe get it better.

Thoughts are:

Find and fit a prodrive sports cat
Exhaust does give a nice sound but cruising inside is a bit boomy for lack of a better word. Sports cat improve flow and noise?
Do I fit a fuel pump upgrade?
Find and fit an sti intercooler?

Above all will my remap adapt or need a revisit to Andy at Teg sport?

Thanks for any advice.

sports cat will make it louder. fuel pump is always a good idea for peace of mind as if origional it will be getting tired now. sti top mount probably not needed at this stage as with the mods suggested i dont think you would see a lot more gains. you really need to fully decat these engines to free the ponies. if its a td04 (should be) really good ones can make 290+ bhp but usually its the exception not the rule. you will need a map tweek for sports cat but why not go decat, just keep your catted downpipe for mot time its only once a year. i had a 100 cell sports cat on my last car and it was a pain in the *** getting it hot enough to pass the mot. taking it to the next level would be a turbo upgrade, full decat and sti pinks along with the sti top mount and the already mentioned fuel pump. plenty of turbo choices as well, vf34/35 or front entry td05 etc which should make anywhere from 320-340 bhp which is just about on the limit for the 5 speed box.

Thanks for the good amount of info.

In reply to the cats question. I just have the standard downpipe cat only at the moment. Uppipe and scrubber/secondary cats gone.
