2002 Subaru WRX sedan
I have a 2002 Subaru WRX Sedan just go through the pits and there pinged me for the red flashing key light that is on the Dash. this light comes on when I am driving and it is mainly because I had to take out the key pad.
is there anything I can do to turn it off?

it will take about a minute but after you start driving the red key on the dash wil start flashing. it is something to do with the alarm.
I go the key pad taken out about a year ago and I never noticed it.
It is going to cost me $190 to for the part because they have to take off the dash.
Does anyone know what else can be done.

The red flashing key light has nothing to do with the keypad...
The keypad is part of the sigma alarm system and the flashing key is to do with the chip in the key, they are 2 separate systems.
You could totaly remove the alarm unit and it would have no affect on the red flashing key/ transponder chip.

As above, even in Australia, the flashing red key indicator is part of the OEM immobiliser circuit controlled via the ECU and linked to the transponder chip in the key.

Thank you for
Thank you for all your help.
Is there a fast way just to tape of the light so I can get it over the pits?
Please send a video or easy instructions.
