hi, i have a 1995 wrx ra and have a idle problem. when i start it, the revs rise to 2000rpm briefly then drop to under 1000 and will stall. this happens a couple of times before it idles at around 700-1000 but idles rough. it has hks induction kit but run fine before this. i have tried swapping maf sensors, idle solanoids, checked vacum pipes, etc etc. have done ecu resets, no fault codes show up. starting to lose my mind a bit, HELP !!!

Assume 95 models have a maf sensor and that this was a step change in behaviour (I.e. ok before fitting the induction kit and not after), my guess would be that fitting the induction kit has throw the maf scaling out. It will need a remap to sort.
In the meantime the acid test would be to refit the previous intake.

Car has always had a induction kit fitted, have tried cleaning both maf and Iacv but still not fixed. I've checked plugs and there ok. Car is now driving like its running on 3 cylinders.

As Ossett said the coil packs need removing with care or you can crack them.
when your plugs come check under the rubber boot part that grips the plug,
your misfire may clear up after replacing the faulty coil pack, but that may not help your original fault.

after much head scratching and component changes, found inlet manifold bolts were loose resulting in poor seal between inlet and heads. tightened up and all good. thanks for advise and help.
