Default MY99 JDM AIR-CON SWITCH ILLUMINATION...???

I think the bulb for the "A/C" text's backlighting has failed, as it appears not to be lit, (when compared to the 'air inside/outside recirc.' switch on the opposite side).

But it's ultimately hard to fathom, as you get light scatter from the whole of the heater/AC unit.

I don't suppose any of you with the same heater/AC unit - i.e. the type with the fan speed as a rotary **** (and not as a slider) - could post up pics of it illuminated in the pitch black, so I can compare...?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Yep, that's confirmed it... My bulb has definitely blown, then.

Okay, so can you remove the A/C switch and simply replace the bulb... Or do you have to buy a brand new switch & bulb assembly? Or indeed a whole new heater/AC control panel?!!

I guess I need the parts guru, Don Clark, to help me out on this one... Don, can you hear me?!

Looks like it has 4 bulbs........

The "Bulb set" is part number 72351FA100 but probably best to replace the "bulb" with an LED using the same holders.
There should be a thread about this but having difficulty finding it.

Ah, I see.

Don't suppose you know what type of bulb?

I'm guessing it's those tiny 'grain of rice' types, in the little white plastic twist-holder...?

Cheers Don.

I've sent an enquiry to Unity Subaru, Leic, for the OEM part. See what they have to say about price, availability, etc. (Not worried that they're not LED).
