Default 2003 Impreza Speedo and Rev counter stopped working.

Was driving earlier today and the Speedo and Rev counter along with mileage just died then instantly came back to life.

Went out just now and was driving. Same happened and it's not come back. The fuel and temp gauge and lights on the dash work just now Speedo or rev counter.

what could this be??

Was supposed to be going a big run with it tomorrow.

Thanks

I've taken the dials out to check the connections.
I've disconnected the battery.

Really needing to get this fixed.

Speedo sensor won't necessarily stop the rpm working, just the speedo though so could be something else

Found this when I opened the clocks.
Have cleaned it with electrical cleaner but no result.

I'm hoping that's going to be the issue.

Would rather a cheaper solution. Hoping it's not a nightmare issue as I'm ****e with wiring.

But whatever that is on the back of the clocks it's not good.

Yea not sure if it's a new unit I need.
Don't want to buy new clocks if it's not the issue.
