Air Cond Pressure Too High!?
Hi Guys,
Felt air cond on my 2005 STI was no working great so went to Halford and bought a bottle of recharge and Trigger+Gauge.
I first tried to measure air temp with Air Cond Flat out... Saw 14.8deg out of blower.
Then with engine off I did plug the trigger & Gauge (Without the recharge bottle) and there I've read possibly 100psi which is right in the middle of the Warning Zone...
At this pressure it says: "Do not add refrigerant. A/C system has possible component malfunction. Seek professional advice."
What the heck is going on with my air cond guys?

Take it to a professional. They should degas the system, vacuum test it, boil off any condensation and regas with the correct amount. They should also add a dye should you have any leaks in the future, you will be able to look for the dye.
I don't understand why I have to pay for my mechanics to take a course to handle refrigerant so they can get involved with a/c systems, but anyone can buy a can from halfords.

Thanks Craig,
What you say is full of wisdom but I was not going to give up like this...
I found this video basically saying it was because the engine was off..
So I tried again with engine on, and then it was on the very low side of "Filled", so I triggered it a few times.
I only managed to go in the middle of "Filled" but now air temp went down to 7deg.
