Default Hawk spec D bumper paint colour

Hi all.

Quick one... it's clear from my car and a quick look at others on the net that the bumpers on hawk spec Ds are not the same colour as the body... does anyone know what colour code they are? I'm guessing it's the same as a WRX silver / grey.

Cheers!

Hi Don,

Yep that code is for the body shell. For some reason the spec D's have slightly different colour front and rear bumpers. I thought it was only my car, but a quick Google search shows they all have!

Whomever did the sped d conversion (subaru uk?) Didn't bother repainting the bumpers it seems!

The bumpers wouldn't have been repainted - it would have come "as is" from the factory complete with WRX style rear spoiler. (Just a different option pack to normal)

Have never seen a picture of a SpecD (or in the flesh) with different shade bumpers, apart from the effect in bright sunlight created by the bumpers being plastic based and the bodywork metal based.(different primers)
If the bumpers were a different colour the paint code would reflect that with a two tone code an example below for 8J6

Ok, Not sure then. They are definetly different because I had my rear bumper resprayed after a crash the same code as the body and there is no real noticeable difference in any light now where before the respray it looked the same as the front, i.e. a different shade. the front one is definetly different, just saying what I'm seeing and what it looks like in the other pictures online!

48w crystal grey metallic

didn't come as different shades from factory it's just paint on metal compared to paint on plastic

bodyshops do a better job at matching should you get bumpers repainted

Thanks for the replies. The reason for asking, was that I am looking to fit a front mount, so remove the fog lamps and replace with the STi blanking plates! I might see how much it is to repaint the whole bumper then....
