Default US sourced EJ257 with phase 2 turbo heads?

Hi All

Long time since I posted - I’ve been running a 97 Legacy EJ25 short motor in my my00 turbo for a number of years now. Sounds like a rod bearing is on its way out (sounds like a diesel under light load when cold, goes away when warm).

Rather than rebuilding the old motor, I’d like to get one of these;

Anyone have experience of sourcing US based short motors, or have experience of Off the Line Performance? Any known issues with the stock phase 2 heads mounting to new OEM EJ257s? And what options do I have on new head gaskets to suit? I fitted JE pistons and Eagle rods way back when I had the EJ25 originally rebuilt, and do not remember the thickness the builder used.

Many Thanks, Richard

What price please? I assume a bit more than $1'850 for the short motor from the US? And what version heads please, and any work done to them?

And I should have added, am only running around 280-300PS with an FE TD05 at 1 bar and an EcuTek remap.

Thanks, Richard
