Default Battery taken off to charge

Hi Chaps,

Car battery was pretty dead last night (reading 8v, car wouldn't start) as the car has been laying and not used for a few weeks, so took it out last night and left it on charge. Is there a starting procedure once I put the battery back in, ie reset alarm/immobiliser? Or can I just slap it in and start the car as normal? It's a 2005 wrx blobeye.

Put it back in and start the car, you'll more than likely get a churp or 2 from the alarm when you connect the terminals. Positive first negative second

To be honest I wouldn't be overly concerned if I was away for 4 weeks starting the car. You can do it for your own piece of mind, only takes a few minutes to disconnect the sensor.
once you get it started let it sit with the engine running until it's up to temp, turn headlights on and meter the battery, it should read 14+ volts

Thanks for replies. Battery back on, car alarm went off (had keys to hand though so no problem). Back up and running again. The biggest issue I had was getting the battery clamps back on, what a PITA they are!
