Default Locking problem help required please

i have a 53 plate uk300, both remotes wont operate the locking, also if i put the key in the lock it will only unlock and lock the drivers door, but if i sit in the car and push the button on the door it will lock and unlock all doors, any ideas ?

replaced the battery in the fobs?

yes but still dosn't explain why the key will only operate the drivers door but the button inside will do all doors

iirc because they are both independent....unlocking door by key does not open all doors

ah right ok, i thought it woukd open all doors, still stuck as to what the problem is though
