Default Replacing newage front engine cradle

Hi is it safe enough to support the engine and gearbox from the sump with a bit of wood under it ? Replacing the front engine cradle wondering if I can support it this way or would it crack something ? Does it need to be supported from above with a hoist ? Cheers

Much safer to sling it from above with a hoist.
