Default EJ20 Closed deck with Classic heads, head gasket question

Hello everyone,

Today we started assembling the engine for my car, it's closed deck with the heads of the old motor, which are the stock classic WRX heads. Moreover, since the pistons are different than before and the head gasket was thicker on the old engine, may I ask if I can use the 0.6mm gasket, or I should use thicker one and if yes, what thickness? My main concern is that the valves will meet 1v1 with the piston of I use 0.6mm gasket.

Best wishes,
Deni

what exact age of heads & pistons are you using?? the later 99> pistons and heads are of a totally different design and hence have the ability to use a much thinner h/gasket than previous set-ups

The heads are of Gc8 WRX made after 99 and the block with the pistons are from a turbo legacy made 1994.

not really sure why you have opted for that as the pistons will give a very low compression ratio but yes basically the heads and 0.6mm gasket would work
