An intermittent problem with my 2004 blob eye wrx
got A new simtek ecu every now and then not all the time I got to start the car and there’s no engine management light on and the fuel pump is priming non stop
usually I can keep turning ignition on and off and the engine management light will stay on fuel pump will prime and stop and it will start
so far the Ive had another new ecu
checked the earths
got a new main relay
Any input would be welcome for when it goes next time

 

Who fitted it, when was it fitted, has it done this since being fitted?

 

Steve Simpson fitted the first and the 2nd as we thought the first had issues but the problem is with the car maybe a broken wire somewhere I’m in the process of relocating the main earth that bolts to the inlet manifold to the engine block for a better ground to eliminate this theory it wasn’t doing this prior to new ecu fitting

 

Well Steve knows what he's doing for obvious reasons. As for the earth just make up some new earth straps directly from the battery. Have you gone speed density if not you could try your old ECU in for testing purposes. Have you got the lead and software if so you could try seeing what is happening with it but I suspect Steve has already tried that.
