Help with CEL code
Hi all,
My check engine light has come on randomly and has displayed a P1100 code which seems the be “Starter Switch Circuit Malfunction”. Car seems to drive perfectly, engine cranks and starts with no issues whatsoever. Cleared the code but it’s come back again. Any ideas what could be triggering it? Car is a 2015 wrx sti.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Don, that’s very strange! My code reader definitely said P1100. Does it make any difference that it’s a 2014? I know there are some differences between the 2014 and 2015, for example the radio wiring, even though both are the 2015 onwards VA model. It’s like Subaru wanted to use some of the parts from the old parts bin before the 2015 year kicked in. Does the 2008 onwards show a P1100 code?
Thanks in advance.

Have looked at a few different manuals and none (so far) list P1100
The UK/European/Australian MY2015 WRXSTI was built between December 2013 and April 2015
It basically covered 1.5 model years.
The Audio system wiring between MY15 and MY16 changed due to the arrival of the Levorg and the option for either 6.2inch Display screen or the 7.0 inch screen both being "integrated" as opposed to the early models removable 2 DIN head unit.
MY16 cars would have been available and registered in 2015.

Thanks for the info Don, turns out my OBD2 reader was having a paddy, located my spare one and it’s now reading P0102 and P0113 which would both point to MAF sensor.
Thanks again for your help.
