Comma 5w50 Motorsport
Has anybody ever used Comma 5w50 Motorsport oil?
I sell oil but mainly for standard cars and don't have a lot of experience with non "applicated" oils
My cars running 333bhp and 350ftlb so not highly tuned but i dont want to put 5w30 in it, was thinking 5w40 or 10w50 as that seems to be the norm for a car that's a weekend toy
I plan to change the oil every 2-3k anyway
Think this oil will be okay?
Ive got a choice of Valvoline VR1 10w60 and Comma 5w50 Motorsport + many "normal" oils

I’ve ran the comma 5w50 oil for many many changes over the years. Mainly used it when doing track days, however. When I was doing 20k miles in a year, I did notice a drop in mpg with this oil compared to a 5w40. Also oil pressure was slightly higher on the 50 once warm (as expected)
for a weekend car that doesn’t see track, I would personally not bother with a 50 oil, but rather stick to a 5w40. It’s extremely unlikely IMO that you would be able to get the oil hot enough on the road for a 50 to be useful without either getting arrested or having a big accident.
