Arrow Forester SG - Front side windows tinting and potential scratches

Hi guys,

My Forester has factory tinted rear and rear side windows. I am considering to tint the front side windows, however, my concern is front side windows have multiple tiny scratched and dirt prints afrer rolling down and up:
I am afraid that after tinting, the film will be covered with scratches in a short time and is going to be looking like sh&+.

Can i just clean something inside and fix to stop scratching?
Do you guys have similar issues?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Yes mate there basically small pads each side of the glass, there right at the top. They sometimes get dirt in them and it gets dragged along the glass.

You can buy new ones, although mine cleared up on there own and no longer scratch the glass. You can buy replacement ones. Or clean old ones.

Isn't it illegal to tint the front?

No clue, but think some car manufacturers offer it from new.

In Manitoba, Canada where I am from, you can tint front windows with 50% tinting film by law.
