ABS light on , how to read a can bus code?
Over month ago i changed coilovers and rear brakes ,week before abs code changed lateral arms( pulled abs cable on driver side,it was attached to a bracket with rusty bolt) followed by brake fluid bleeding on all corners.
Last Sunday on the morning had with no issues, starter a car on afternoon in 33°C code showed up.
Have no abs diagnostic socket ,how to read a code ,best software or scanner to use? Checked fuses all good.
Could be sensor, pump ,g sensor or abs ring on a hub-had some rusty deposit falling on it when i removed rear discs stone guard but do not think thats an issue
sockets i have on a car 2006 jdm sti

For UK Imprezas, from MY06 onwards access to ABS is only via Subaru Select Monitor with Electrical system module, or a general OBDII scan tool with ABS/SRS module included.
For a JDM model I'm not sure whether a JOBD specific scanner is required but it would still need the ABS module incorporated.

If you are having trouble code reading and have a multimeter, you can usually diagnose ABS faults/pinpoint a sensor from the plugs either under the seats, or the main one at the ABS unit. I wouldn't have access to it for your car, Don might, but the expected readings would be in one of the service manuals.

Ok tried 30 quid obd+can and no codes.
is code on picture read from where abs could storage a fault?
could buy diaglink for 85quid with software for one car free of charge but do not want waste money as this one i will be unable to return.
Than is it possible to clear a code or i need to fix an issue to clear it?

Bought autel diaglink for 60 quid, not bad tool it reads abs codes. Abs code 27 is it just sensor or something else?
When I swapped rear coilovers i undo rear seat bench and left belts locks under then month later pulled them from under bench and maybe i did something to abs cable.
Is abs sensor part number the same for jdm an UK imprezas?

Copied this from another post I made so it might not read quite right.
Have you an ABS light when you turn the ignition on if yes and it goes out there is nothing wrong with the electrical part of the system.
When you start travelling if the ABS light illuminates you have a mechanical fault.
The ABS system does a system check when the ignition is cycled and then monitors it all the time once in motion.
Could be a wheel bearing knackered.

Light is permanently on,tried to erase it but fault coming back instantly.
I thought it will be driver side.
Will have a look on cable first under rear bench, could swap cables puting driver side connector to passenger side but doubt cables are long enough under rear bench.

Hopefully it's not tone ring, will connect new before messing with it in the hub. Think it's overpriced for what it is,replacement on ebay 50 quid ,oem subaru over 140.
Found one on autodoc for 20 quid.
