subaru 2004 wrx

when locking car with remote fob all locks lock for half a second then unlock themselves. i have to manually lock the doors.

unlocking with fob unlocks all doors fine.

any ideas?

sounds like a door, bonnet or boot sensor

More likely an issue in the mechanical components of the locking assembly, I think. I had the reverse issue on a classic (doors would all lock themselves), and the problem there was one of the control rods inside the driver door fouling slightly against the electric lock/unlock actuator plunger.

if its an aftermarket module then likely the rods are mis-adjusted and triggering incorrectly.....
