Intercooler Shield's ?
#2
I again went for a cheap option (as some a quite expensive to say there just appear to be a piece of mesh) and bought some folitech hexagonal mesh from halfords(ripspeed). Cut it just a bit bigger than the size of the rubber seal on the underbonnet side of the scoop. Removed the underbonnet section of the scoop, put mesh in place, replaced underbonnet section of scoop and jobs a good un!!
Stopped flies and stuff hitting intercooler and didnt seem to affect airflow as mesh is of reasonable size. Note this mesh will look different one side to the other, its just a case of preference. Not bad for £20 (with alot of mesh left over) and 20 mins max.

I bought the Power Engineering mesh grill
Stainless steel outer rim about 3/4" wide with the mesh in the centre. It's caught some fly's but only if there biguns.
The intercooler isn't obstructed by the outer rim so I don't think it'll make any differance to the amount of air getting to the intercooler.
