Default Lateral Link Bolt : the Jesus bolt

Will replace the trailing and control arms on my GC8 .... seems the long lateral link bolt will be a drama.

What's the recommended way of removing ......... given likely seized ( bolt seizes onto inner bushing collar).

Labour rates high so time is money ... so I'm thinking ...

- drench in penetration fluid day before
- remove the nut
- cut bolt between hub and control arm ...... thus removing arm and bushing from bolt
- push bolt out with air hammer and punch bit

Any better ideas ?

I removed the hub and had to just a sledge hammer and punch on passenger side 😓

If you find it’s really stuck, how much is a new hub? Depending on how old wheel bearings etc are, would it make sense to swap it all out if the bolt is stuck?
