I believe they now have a sound sample on their website.....

Does it make it sound beefier...you bet

Had a standard go past me, thought it was in stealth mode or something as it was hardly making a burble

I've got a MY00 classic shape but they're pretty much the same in sound.

You should notice a gain in power, depending on which bits you do.

If you can, get yourself down to a local meet, or even the track day at Donington on Sunday.....you'll notice the difference

Im just looking to get a new WRX and I remember seeing on the scoobysport website some months ago that their exhaust reasonably increased the bhp, now it doesnt say that.

Does anyone have any experience and what difference it has made to my01/2 wrx, o and does it make it sound beefier?

Hi Gary

This is the graph that was on our old site, of two 98 cars. The cars were identical, with near identical mileage. The blue line is a standard car, the red line had a Scoobysport backbox and ITG filter.

Thumbs up

Pete,

Thanks for that, just one more question, how much of the exhaust do I have to change to see that sort of performance increase?

Just ask cos the car is going to be on contract hire so I need to revert it back to standard and want to avoid fiddling with the ECU if possible.

Cheers

Gary

Pavlo

That's amazing, this site was lost when my old hoster went awol. Fortunately we were 3/4 done on the new site.

Is every site on this archive site or is this something of your own?

By the way, I clipped the bottom legend off the graph, as it implied that the cars weren't running the same fuel. Both were running 98 (as it was then ).

Typing at the same time...

The red line is backbox and filter. These are 98 Uk cars, but 01 cars will be similar.

Pete
I have sourced a DP and BB 2nd hand coz I am a cheap skate

the DP seems to have some small dings and a wee bit of a scrunched up bit in it on the lower side...
have I bought a lemon () and should get a new DP, or will it be A-ok?
i dont know what exhaust normally look like...

Ill need a centre section - but i will be buying this new

the BB is fitted... its lovely!
as u said it would

rest wont be on until after warranty has expired (12 weeks and counting)

the performance is better too - smoother... esp 2-4k

Pete,

The archive is mature project now, it scours the web for sites to archive, and visits them every now and again for updates.

Also known as the wayback machine.

SCOSaltire

I'm sure it will be fine, a couple of little dinks and scratches aren't going to affect it much.

I'm sure this was reflected in the price

You won't regret it

I have Pete's finest DP, (2 piece) centre and back box on my MY01 - lovely Great sound (you forget how loud it can be because the cabin is much better sound proofed). I'm not sure on the BHP increase, but the car has loosened up considerably (now with 18K on the clock) and I have had several comments from passengers asking whether it has been PPP'd

I have the PPP but I bought the scoobysport downpipe and uppipe for my MY01. Has anyone experience of the 2 bits fitted? Mine are getting fitted while I sun myself in Portugal at the end of the month .

Pete, when I asked you said I would need to do both and the downpipe wouldn't be ok on it's own. Never thought to ask why and I see lots of people with MY01/02 with just the downpipe done? What was the thinking behind needing both? Thanks. Something to do with the PPP I seem to remember???

Cool

Gary - I think the figs are 245bhp for the d/p, centre and b/b, and 250 with the up-pipe as well - these figs quoted by Scoobysport in Japanese performance and CCC. Everyone I've spoken to says it makes quite a difference - especially more torque lower doen the rev range......so I hope I'm not dissapointed when I get mine fitted in 12 days (and counting!)
