novice turbo question...
#1
this may, to sum of the very more experienced folk round here, seem trivial, but cud sumone explain to me how turbos work, and what exactly 'bar' means in boost.
and if my subaru sport has same engin as turbos?
and why is a 'flat four' so good?
thanks in anticipation.

Flat four is good for a couple of reasons.
First of all the reciprocating parts are balanced as they are mirrored - two pistons on one side - two on the other. This makes boxer engines very smooth and they like to rev - like the early Alfasuds - great boxer engines - very smooth and you could rev the nuts of them.
Also they are good as the centre of gravity can be located much lower down than with a tall standard 4-pot engine. This improves the handling of the car considerably.
