'full bore standing start'
#5
Assume for a minute you had a nice new clutch and every morning after it was fully warmed up you had a 'full bore start' just for fun. Let us also assume you drove nice and normally the rest of the time. How many days do you lot think the clutch would last??

Unless you want to impress the kids by spinning all 4 wheels, a 'non' full bore start will actually launch you faster.
This will vary from car to car but approx 4000 rpm then 'fairly quick' clutch release whilst gradually (over say 1 second) applying full throttle does it for me
Regular 1.2 G's in 1st gear at Crail dragstrip, standard clutch, probably done 100+ launches like this now without breaking or wearing out anything.
Thrash.....don't hash

As long as I keep the torque below 350lb-ft it's just fine
Well it's still beating that 550 bhp R33 skyline over the 1/4 mile so it can't be too bad .... The 1000bhp one got away though guess I'd need more than a racy clutch to catch that one !
