Oops.. sounds like the standard UK one..

they have a key that you insert somewhere and you can wind it shut..

I have one with my car.. obviously that is no help if he doesn't have key. But check manual and info that came with the car as it might be in there which is where mine was in the plastic handbook thingy..

Failing that a dealer should be able to help.. although not cheap.. say got a problem with my sunroof.. they won't know it an import to start with.

My car is UK and I am sure it is the same make of sunroof...

Derby... Midlands...

Although Kent at the weekend.

Car is not with me at the moment either so I cannot check and back up what I have said until the weekend.

If it is currently open and he needs to shut it like now then I am sure a dealer would have a key?

It is about 3inches long and made of black plastic shaped like a 'T' from memory.

No...

I will look for you when I get home for the weekend..

Sorry if that is not soon enough, but it is the best I can do

I cannot remember if there is a sunroof manual book or not.. the previous owner of the car has kindly left everything that came with the car there, so if there was a manual then I will have it.

I can only assume you must have to drop some of the trim down somewhere..

Question

Has he tried a dealer?

Wouldn't hurt to ask...

the dealers a pain in the **** down here mate, they are crap on service... waited 45 minutes for a staff to get parts, then they didn't have it in stock.

not too worry, it's not my car that's buggered, it's my mates!

Towards the rear window above the rear passenger seat there should be a plastic plug in the headlining about an 1"x1" and the socket to enable manual closure of the roof will be behind this (providing it is the same type as that fitted to a MY96)

What is the status on the sunroof mate?

I have the key... just a bit worried about posting it to you incase I never see it again.. but this is perhaps the best solution? If you cannot trust a scoobynetter who can you trust?

Will email you to discuss it on Monday.
