I bought a camera clamp from B Hague recently, for my Caterham. Fantastic service and the clamp is very well made. Recommended.

Fitting a camcorder to the dash is something I have fancied for a while but as usual not got around2it.

What about safety e.g. you crash and the camera comes unstuck?
What about vibration? My Panasonic DV camera has some antishake built in but can it handle being in a car?

Anybody have any thoughts?

Good link BTW DazW

Dirty_Den, what model did you get?

Cool

If you are worried about safety in a crash don't do it, unless you have something solid like an Roll Cage to attach it to!

Ok, don't crash good advice.

Maybe the airbags will hold it.

I asked for that one I suppose.

TolTec - I got the SUPERCLAMP with BALL TILT HEAD, model SC2 on their page. I wrap a little bit of cloth around the rollbar on my 7, then tighten the clamp so that the teeth go into the cloth - I'm just a tart and don't want marks on my rollbar

Total was just under 70 quid, I got the clamp the next day!

Exclamation

The SM1 type suction mounts we use at work for video, but I can't get them to attach to anywhere inside a Scooby due to all the curves on the glass

It is usual for 'outside' installations to have safety straps on so that, should a suction mount fail, your precious camera equipment doesn't hit the deck!

Bought one of these recently - very impressed:-

You need a Video Camera that is capable of acting as a Video Recorder for it to work.

I've also got on of these http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm
and use it with a Sony PC9 camera. I have used it on my motorbike, mountain bike and extensively inside a friends rally car, I couldn't recommend it enough, it is a million times better than trying to mount your entire camera inside the car. You will have a nightmare trying to get it where you want it and then will find the vibrations destroy your picture. The bullet camera is small (waterproof) and light enough to tape/zip tie/wedge just about anywhere inside or out.
