Hesitation when cold
#1
Had my MY00 UK 2000 Turbo (20,000 miles) for just over a week now, I don't recall it doing this to start with, but this evening, driving home from work, it was very reluctant to accelerate up to 3000 revs. Didn't take it above until it had warmed up. Felt as if I were pumping at the accelerator, lurching along under power. Idle was fine, and once it had warmed up it felt alot better.
If anyone can shed any light I'd be most gratefull. Also, it may be totally un-related, but there was a loud bang that sounded just like a tyre blow out on the motorway last night, no vibration, no flat tyres, no body damage or under car as far as I can see, and I didn't see anything in the road that I could have hit, so I'm a bit concerned. Again, any help, and I might be able to stop crying!

The cold hesitation you describe - they all do it. The MY00 ECU is the runt of the litter as well, with less power than the MY99 ECU, and tends to hesitate more. It can be sorted, but you start on the slippery slope of mods if you are not careful
