S-S-Stutering at full boost in 5th?
#1
I think I've felt this before but tonights cold wet weather seems to have highlighted it properly. When I get full boost in 5th gear (about 1.2 bar) the car stutters quite badly. I can see out the corner of my eye the gearstick moving which gives you an idea of how the car is snatching at the drivetrain. This doesn't seem to happen at similar boost in all the other gears where the car is far smoother.
FAO John Banks, is this anything to do with the current settings of the TEC'd ecu at those revs? (3000rpm-4000rpm hence 72mph to 96mph)
Should I worry?
Car has scoobysport backbox, TEC3'd ECU and a dawes to control the boost. The TEC3 is obviously not being optimised at the moment as the cats are still on (but will be coming off soon). Will iminent cat removal solve this problem or is it something more sinister.
Help appreciated

Mine was stuttering but it was in all the gears and felt like it was flooding. It was intermitant and i'd been to every subaru agent locally, they changed plugs and boots, i've cleaned every pipe, checked every coil ect, ect, ect and then took it to well lane turbo centre and they found it straight away.
It was the Knock linc sensor on top of the engine block. They strapped it to a rubber hose and earthed it to see if that was the problem. It was ,so now i can put a new one on.I done think its too wise to drive for to long without it on.(it's worth a try)
