Very strange question here, but is it at all possible to own an sti tuned impreza that comes under UK spec on the log book.

for the purposes of cheaper insurance.

If you know it to be an STi, but try and insure it as a standard car just because that's what it says on the V5, that's fraud.

.....as the declaration on the insurance proposal will make clear - it's a material fact.

yeah but don't you just insure the car for what it says on the log book, which would be for instance Subaru Impreza 2000 AWD Turbo.


If theres no mention of STI or anything, just because STI tuned it, is that a difference.?

The thing to remeber with ALL insurance companies is ultimately they want to TAKE your money bu NOT pay any back.

If they can get out of paying they will, if you have an accident in the vehicle and an assesor comes out to view the damage he will see that it has NON-STANDARD parts on it and you insurance will be void. There are a few things you can get away with but not many.
