Question

I'm confused! I've just had (and passed) an MOT, but the tester reported that the car was "Tappety" during the brake tests.

What can this mean? Since when have Tappets had anything to do with brakes?

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

cant put a scoob on a conventional brake tester due to it being 4wd so something gets placed in the car and then they drive it and brake... so probably heard it whilst driving it?

Cheers David - that would make sense.

But should I be worried, or is this just the "normal tappety" sound refered to in the SIDC FAQ ??
