Help for my mates mr2 turbo
#1
Just thought I`d ask, (probably in the wrong forum as well)
Does anybody have a URL for an online service manual or a downloadable version for a 94 mr2 turbo? One of my m8s is having probs with his 2 and a manual would be a great help
Cheers

There is some stuff on the 1991 model here... not much difference between the two, think the newer models lost the AFM.. what does he want to know..?? is it engine related..??? as i had a gt-four and the engine is the same or similar..

I can see hands arms and fingers tore to shreads already. GT4's, and MR2's where not designed by right thinking humans. You have to dismantle the entire car, just to open the bonnet. Why did toyota make everything so awkward. If its broke, sell it. It will be less hassle just to buy something else.
Just my 2p worth, and ive worked on a few, but now refuse to work on them at all. No amount of money makes it worth it.
Im only exaggerating a little btw. I do mean the above.

stevie,
I know exactly what you mean.... the GT-four was a complete and total tw** to do even the most simple of jobs on..... especially the cam belt... the engine was so close to the inner wheel arch you could not even fit a rizla paper down the gap...!!!
I think you needed to drop the engiine to change the clutch properly...! Thata why i sold it, well, also because it was slow too...!

The clutch can be done without removing the box, but it is very hard.
A local breakers to me used to specialise in them. He wont even take one in for breaking now. He says that he needs cars worth breaking, not ones that are scrap before he gets them...lol
Ive rebuilt a couple of engines, and done a few head gaskets and various other works.
SELL IT you will thank me later.

Hey guys c`mon eh, it`s the mates 1st sports mota
(If i hadn`t written mine off the day after I bought it I`d never
have bought a Scoob) for safety
Anyway nuff banter, the prob we`ve got with the m8s 2 is when we hook-up to do a diagnostics on his mota we get nothing!! Yeah I mean what I say, absolutely NOTHING... So Ideally i need 2 things :
1/ a wiring diagram (to check the harnesses to)
2/ someone to tell me where the ECU is in this bitch (so I can check if its a std or uprated ECU, which would probably not carry the Toyota self diagnostics software) cos i don`t wanna start rippin panels off ***** nilly
Thanks again peebs, and for the input (don`t touch it with a barge pole warnings)

Th ecu is located in the boot on the firewall betwwen the engine and boot. The Haynes Fault code manual, and Electronics systems manuals both cover Toyota diagnostics.
I think its the pins Te1 and E1 or something you short for the cel to flash the codes. cant remeber exactly.
If you arent getting any response from the cel light, check there is actually a bulb fitted. Does it illuminate when the ignition is switched on?? ive seen a few with the bulb removed.
