Oil leak from engine block

I have a 'weeping' oil leak from the block just below the oil pressure switch on my MY98 Terzo, which drips down the behind the cam belt etc, then down engine onto the exhaust and produces smoke and a burning oil smell every time I stop. I have cleaned the area and watched it leak from what appears to be weak spot in the block. The leak is not bad but I want to fix it.
Anybody have any suggestions on how I can plug/fix/weld the leak (besides replacing the block/engine)?
Thanks,
Mike

I doubt it's the block. It's probably just the seal. The seal went on my not long after I had the cam belt changed. It did as you exlained, and I got quite a bit of smoke whenever I stopped after a fast cruise. The dealer said that the part is cheep, but it will mean replacing the cam belt again, since it would be contaminated by the oil. Not sure how true this is, but took no chances.
