Didn't want to upset Prodrive though, to be fair with the little tweaks done it is quite a neat package for the UK market.

Potential problems seem to be blown engines
The P1 and later STi's have problems when modified and the ecu is not mapped for it
If you want to keep your warranty then i wouldnt do anything, if not you could always get an EcuTek done

I think so personally, but I do P1 remaps so
There is a lean spot during spool up already, with the decat it hits some even more dubious areas of the map with rather optimistic timing and fuelling, especially if there is a decat induced overboost.
Anyway, if you remap it you can have a det free 320 BHP with a decat compared with a potentially risky 290 BHP.

Have the same problem, I put a decat on my P1 about 10 months ago and have recently took it off again due to other ppl's engines blowing up. Long term I would like to get the Ecutek 3 done but I've still got 2 years warranty left.
Is there a way to get the ECU remapped without Subaru noticing?

Yes you can have an ecutek map done, but they dont flash the ecutek license to it, therefore unreconiseable(sp?), but it also means it is undetectable by the ecuteck guys if you go buack for a remap.
Thats what i understand of it anyway.

P1s overfuel on cylinder 2. Well, that's what Subaru say, anyway (very very quietly), so the decat shouldn't increase the likelihood of the popped engine, but no, the warranty wouldn't be honoured as they'd blame the decat

It is more likely to blow up at 320 BHP than it would be with a decat at 276 BHP properly mapped. But the standard car is not really properly mapped for a decat if you hear what I am saying. Depends on what you want out of the car...

John,
Interested in P1 remap, any chance you could mail me some details per profile re., costs, how long...where...?
We don't seem to have anyone doing this in our neck O' the woods;
cheers
Steve.
P1, decat, induction..nervous.

I was looking and knocklink and lamdalink sensors and not to have a dig at the company, but isn't it about time they updated the look of the sensors. I'd buy them both without doubt cause they are really useful aids - but they just don't look good in the car.

Glenn_R - If you've got a P1 the center bit only has a small resonator in it away (no cat) so I guess you're not improving much.
It's the DP that gave my P1 a really loud raspy groul, without it the HKS Hiper has been tamed.
