Exclamation

I've got a wrx 95 ra , started the car from cold pulled away but then had to reverse back , full lock one way then full lock the other way , then nothing the steering went really heavy .
Looked under the car there are no leaks and have'nt noticed any leaks on the garage floor, and the level is correct.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be ? i have a guess it could be the pump or and air lock .
Anyone else had this happen to them ?

please help

thanks
nick.

No expert but it could be the pump has packed up, the sterring will be very very heavy if it has.

P/S pumps are cheap only about £120 for a used one from Grade A, would only take an hour or so max to fit.

Nick, have you called GDA? if not then give Graham a bell, he might be able to tell you what the problem is. I've got to go in and get my PAS sorted out (will have to be in new year now)

For anyone in future reference i had the pump tested at greenwich power steering pump repair center DON'T GO THERE they told me my pump was working so i took off the rack (not an easy job) went back there tested the rack , that was alright too, turns out it was the pump in the first place , all i can think off is the relief valve in the pump was faulty.
Anyway got a second hand pump from nippon car breakers for £120 ,
so after 2 weeks of stress caused by greenwich power steering services my car is finally back on the road .
