Hi,

We have just bought a Black 97' STI (Jap Import) and generally the car is in excellent condition.

Unfortunately once we washed it we noticed a fine spray of something all over the top of the car, but is worst on the bonnet.
Anyway we used some T-Cut (Which we now found out was not a good idea) and then polished her up. This fine spray still wouldnt come off, not quite sure what it is looks a bit like sap.

Anyway we're gonna try and use some swissol cleaning products on it (e.g clay bar etc etc), but if his doesnt work, I think we will need a respray on some pannels if not a total, depending on cost.

Has anyone else heard of this sappy buildup on other imprezas, maybe its something in Japan i dont knw??

Also can anyone recommend a good paintshop to have some respraying done...needs to be fairly local to where we are (Billericay, Essex) if poss.

Also if anyones had a paintjob done, could they let us knw roughly how much we could be looking at?

Cheers!

Dan.

The wheels that came with my car were very badly re-done, whether they were resprayed in Japan or here it was definately done by someone who was blindfolded with their hands tied behind there backs!! The wheels werent great but either they had left the wheels on the car or done them in the same room/garage. When I first saw the car I didnt notice but once I got it home a few days and once the sun eventually came out I noticed the Gold overspray, aargh despair !!!
Took it to some friends in the know, I cant remember the name just now but i will search it out tomorrow. It is very kind to your paintwork which is Paramount with scoob paint, it looks like bluetack, and you rinse it with water as you rub across the car.

Ill get the name for you tomorrow

Right lads well we've given her a good goin over with the swissol products and it has completely transformed the paintwork!

However still need to knw of good paintshops nearby as considering puttin a lip spoiler on the front and obviously need to have that sprayed up...so keep em coming!

Cheers..oh and merry christmas!

lol clifford!

errr i knw what u mean...we've noticed that fine red sparkel in the paintwork.

But no it wasnt that, it was more white and looked like sap...but pleased to say that the swissol products worked wonders on it and now its all gone.

But still looking for decent paintshops nearby as considering having a lip spoiler put on.

Cheers - Dan
