Just got back off holiday and had a flat battery. Dont know if its coincidence but since then my cars been running bad. Its ok when you give it stick but when its cruising, especially at around 2k revs it feels a bit spluttery like its holding back or the brakes are on. Its an MY97 standard on 44k so the 45k service is just coming up. Will a service cure it? Do they change your plugs on that one and do they check the ECU? So what im basically asking is on the service will they check how its running and cure any problems or just do the basics? Appreciate any advice,

Del

The battery going flat may have partly re-set your ECU, so the car is no trying to learn whats what again, might just be a bit of bad fuel.
I can't remember if plugs are done on the 45K (think they are).
Mention to the garage that the cars a bit lumpy and ask them to see if there are any error codes in the ECU and also re-set the ECU for you.
Cheers.
Ian.
