Question

My MY95 WRX is due for another cambelt and am on 133kms. Should I fit a new water pump as well or just change the belt, pulleys and tensioner? Have mixed information so far with the local Subaru dealer contact saying he's never needed to change one on any of the UK cars they've serviced.

Advice please...... may just change it anyway cos it could be costly if it goes...... would welcome your thoughts.

Thanks

Jo

in theory there's no need but you obviously have "a feeling" about this so for what the extra cost is i'd say change it just for peace of mind

I agree with changing the Tensioner on your car but wouldnt personally bother changing the pulleys unless they are noisy or do not rotate smoothly.
As for the water pump, if it is not leaking from the gasket then i would not bother changing it..
If you are thinking about changing things whilst the belt is off and your car is modified i would think about changing the oil pump.
