It is called an 'FSE boost valve' for he boy racers but it is actually a fuel pressure regulator. I have one fitted to my car but not for performance improvement reasons more for safety and since the fuel pump had been done and the new big turbo was going on then it was a must really to keep the pressure at what it should be.

there are 2 types!
the 1.7:1 valve is known as the power boost valve and is a rising rate regulator.
the one most people use on here is a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator for adjusting fuel pressure when tuning.
hope this helps.

Reasons for fitting a fuel pressure regulator are if your fuel pressure is wrong or could go wrong. Otherwise don't bother.
If you want to spend some money buy a knocklink or some octane booster
(for a turbo anyway)

If you have a non turbo then these can signifcantly benefit you,
they were as many people know made for the 205 gti.
But on non turbo engines can change the response of the engine.
I had a 16i ghia and was reliably informed(when I wanted a chip) that these do a simililar job to a chip upgrade but at a quarter of the price, because its only mildly over fuelling. Or maybe a bit more pressure(what ever).
Not that I have a clue what I'm writing......

I'm getting chip tuned in a couple of months, just waiting for my local tuner (Kempower) when he finishes studying japanese ECU's.
Will ask him if it's reasonable to use one.
Thanx all.
